A Place We Call Home
Newport has a reputation for being a town of change makers and visionaries. When ALEX AND ANI opened its first store in 2009 at historic Bowen’s Wharf, it helped spark a phenomenon that would help revitalize the jewelry industry in Rhode Island. To this day, Newport remains one of the most significant pieces to the continued growth of our brand.

Fast forward to late 2012 when Carolyn Rafaelian, ALEX AND ANI Founder, CEO, and Chief Creative Officer, purchased Belcourt Castle, the iconic Newport landmark designed by Richard Morris Hunt (famous for his iconic design of the Statue of Liberty’s base). Determined to breathe new life into the mansion, Rafaelian began a project to restore and preserve it for generations to come. She even gave it a new name fitting for its new chapter – Belcourt of Newport.

Over the years, we have supported and sponsored various organizations and events such as the International Tennis Hall of Fame, The Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals, and the Newport Skating Center. Also, our last two company holiday parties were held at beautiful Belle Mer on Goat Island. These are just a few of our connections to the town that amplify our passion to preserve it and all its beauty.

Exciting Events and More
Through this collaboration, ALEX AND ANI will sponsor eight popular events hosted by the Society throughout the year including the annual Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch, a lecture series, the Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff Mansion, and Christmas at the Newport Mansions to name a few. Each event will feature unique, innovative ways to connect with our brand.
